Building economic diversification in the Murray-Darling Basin PDF Print E-mail

Marsden Jacob Associates has been engaged by the Department of Regional Australia, Regional Development and Local Government to work in partnership with the Department and the Murray and Riverina RDAs in New South Wales in a ground-up partnership with communities affected by the Murray-Darling Basin Plan to identify a range of opportunities for growth and diversification.

The project involves identifying potential options that build on existing competitive advantages like the natural resource base, local skills, the knowledge of regional universities and input from affected communities, government agencies and the RDA network.  The project will involve working with the RDAs and affected communities to identify practical solutions for economic diversification from the ground up.

Minister Crean’s media release about the economic diversification project is available here
