The Tasmanian Environmental Protection Authority has released our report into the potential framework for a container deposit scheme (CDS).  The report can be downloaded from here.

The report identified

  • desirable attributes for a potential scheme
  • how to set it up
  • the benefits that could be expected
  • and its cost

for the Tasmanian community.

The analysis builds on extensive work by Marsden Jacob into container deposit schemes, reducing litter associated with packaging and addressing Australia’s waste issues.
