Our Teams are involved in things like:

Working with Commonwealth Government authorities and Expert Panels supporting national water reform, and balance how water is allocated and managed between competing and complimentary uses.
Contributing to work that shapes Australia’s transition to clean energy, like Snowy Hydro 2.0, or being part of the market advisory team on Australia’s first waste-to-energy plant.
Working with State and Commonwealth Governments to understand the nexus between climate change and water security, or climate change and coastal risks, and plan for future climate change risks and opportunities.
Collaborating with State and Local Governments, water utilities and other stakeholders planning and assessing the costs and benefits of investments in growth regions to ensure our future cities and regions are liveable, and provide the services and environments that people want and value.
Developing and helping implement practical and innovative market-based approaches for getting better environmental and community outcomes through natural capital markets, like stormwater offset schemes and through innovative market led approaches to environmental watering.
Undertaking path-breaking analysis of the agricultural sector and agricultural productivity, and working with stakeholders to identify how our agricultural sector can lift performance, while also supporting sustainable landscapes and catchments.
Working in expert teams undertaking economic modelling, litter and recycling modelling, and analysis of scheme design to support the development of circular economy and waste and litter reduction policies, like Container Refund Schemes.
Developing new bespoke quantitative and mathematical models and analyses to support advisory work in energy and clean energy and undertaking analysis of Australian electricity and gas markets using our in-house energy market models.
Undertaking commercial and financial analysis, designing commercial frameworks such as performance and payment arrangements.

We’re looking for two exceptional people to join us under a Casual arrangement. For the right people we have positions available in Melbourne or Sydney. For these opportunities, we are seeking people who are available to work in 3–8-hour blocks, 1-3 times a week, supporting our teams from across Australia. Our Melbourne office is in Camberwell and our Sydney office is in Crows Nest and any work will be based from these offices, provided government restrictions allow.

The role will offer you access to industry leading consultants, the opportunity to contribute to meaningful work, across varying sectors. You will be supporting our project teams and delivering work that may include:

helping prepare presentations,
numerical analyses, using tools like Excel
report and presentation preparation, formatting and editing
coordinating workshops and other forums.

We’re looking for people who want to make a positive difference through the work you do. This casual opportunity may offer fluctuating hours week to week and may suit a later-years University student or someone with who enjoys a flexible working arrangement. You will have:

Excellent plain English communication and writing skills, including the ability to effectively review and edit different styles for different purposes and audiences (e.g. technical reports, briefings to executive decision makers, succinct summaries of complex issues in layman’s terms, visual materials to support stakeholder engagement activities with a variety of audiences).
A positive, collaborative, and problem-solving approach.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively and adaptively as part of professional and responsive teams.
A relevant tertiary qualification or be completing your qualification (e.g. Economics, Econometrics, Public Policy, Commerce, Finance or Engineering).
Proficiency in MS Office applications

This role will be a casual arrangement, at a rate of $30 per hour which includes a casual loading. Superannuation will also apply to employees earning more than $450 per month, in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.
