Darel joins Marsden Jacob as an intern during the semester break while completing a Master’s degree in Energy Systems at the University of Melbourne.
Through his previous study in mechanical engineering and prior experience working in a power station in Indonesia Darel has gained both a thorough technical understanding and commercial perspective of conventional energy markets.
Darel’s ongoing study at the University of Melbourne, has further improved his understanding from the Australian perspective; particularly the National Electricity Market, renewable energy and non-renewable energy design, energy economics and understanding the energy financial market.
Darel is passionate about modelling and the impacts on policy outcomes and energy market reform. He is enthusiastic about the outcome of future energy transitions in a developing economy to meet rapid energy demand growth, while also mitigating climate responsibilities.
