Lachlan has several years’ experience providing economic and policy advice to government and private sector clients across transport, energy, education and health. With skills spanning quantitative methods, data and geospatial analysis, and evidence-based policy advice, Lachlan has delivered business cases, economic appraisals, econometric modelling, and policy development across a diverse range of projects.

• Economic and financial modelling – for the Western Freeway Upgrade Detailed Business Case, Infrastructure Victoria’s Fast, frequent, fair report, and the Heart Foundation’s Economic cost of hypertension report.
• Business case appraisal – contributing to detailed business cases and options studies for government and universities, including the Equine Veterinary Facility Options Study for the University of Melbourne.
• Policy development – supporting long-term strategies such as Infrastructure Victoria’s 30-year infrastructure strategy.
• Econometric modelling – applying advanced methods to large datasets. including hedonic modelling for Infrastructure Victoria’s Fast, frequent, fair report.
• Data and geospatial analysis – gathering, transforming, and interpreting complex data to inform clear advice.

Lachlan holds a Master of Economics (with distinction), a Bachelor of Economics (Economic Policy), a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance), and a Diploma of Liberal Arts (Politics) – all from Monash University. Prior to joining Marsden Jacob, Lachlan worked in economic consulting at Aalto and in policy development at Infrastructure Victoria.
